Machine Tool control performance, though, is about real time processing. The more computations that can be made in a period of time, the faster, and more accurately, the Machine Tool will cut. That is why higher end controls typically are based on micro-processors or digital signal processors (DSP). With all this clearly in mind, and with the objective to provide a high performance system without making it any harder to use, it was only natural for ANILAM to base our new generation of controls on a multi-processor design. The PC Processor will handle the user interface, basic block processing and manage various machine functions. The Digital Signal Processor (DSP) is dedicated to the control motion
So, with ANILAM High Performance and Ease of Use is not a contradiction. We do it by combining the unique advantages of the PC and the DSP. We do it with our well appreciated programming language, allowing machinists to communicate with the control in their own language. And what's more, ANILAM's new design has an integrated CAN-bus controller for Inputs and Outputs. The result is more flexibility leading to easier and more capable machine intergration
